Agarbathi taller than its maker.  And one that can burn for 24 hours.  Raveendran Nair, TC 42/640, S.R.Bhavan, Kallummoodu, Muttathara, Thiruvananthapuram has made this smoking wonder which he claims is the longest in the world.

The incense stick is made from 8 indigenous ingredients including sandal, turmeric etc.  After grinding the ingredients in the traditional grindstone, the paste is applied to a bamboo split.  No chemicals are added in its making.

Raveendran Nair makes incense sticks on a small scale for poojas and temples.  In addition to the regular agarbathis, he makes 3 feet long bathis also.

He learned the art of making incense sticks from Kumara Swami, alias Sampranithiri Swami 14 years ago.
