12-YEAR-OLD PIANIST TAKES A BOW |
||||||||
|
His
first name is borrowed from a maestro of Western music: Julian.
His last name is taken from the notation for music: clef.
He was born on July 28, the death anniversary of Bach.
And he is a promising pianist at the age of 12. Starting
with his 1st public performance in February this year, Julian
Clef has performed at many stages.
A connoisseur of Western music, Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma of the
Travancore Royal Family inaugurated his 1st public performance.
Sri. Varma had earlier invited the young musician to perform on the
piano in the palace. Julian’s performances have been telecast by many TV
channels. His
guru is his father Villi Pulimukham, NCC Road, Peroorkada,
Thiruvananthapuram. He is
fond of Bach’s music and has a repertoire of about 300 compositions. This
lover of piano has a personal sorrow though.
He doesn’t have a piano of his own.
However, an aficionado staying a couple of kilometers away from his
home has graciously permitted him to practice on his piano whenever Julian
finds time to visit his house. He,
however, has a digital piano that was gifted by a foreigner who happened
to hear his performance once. He visited Julian’s home and came to know about the young
artist’s condition. The
digital piano was a token of his appreciation and encouragement.
