Young carpenter who carves realistic figures of those in the news: that is Anil Kumar, Karimbuvila Thadatharikathu veedu, Chakkakkad, Venjarammoodu, Thiruvananthapuram.
For young Anil, who has made the figures of K.R.Narayanan and A.K.Antony, Bin Laden and Veerappan etc, this is just a part of his profession.
He gets the urge to create in wood the figures of the famous and infamous seen in the newspapers. Without waiting for sponsors or accolades, he goes on with his chosen joy.
Other figures he has molded include Sri Krishna and Vivekananda, Stalin and Lenin, Mammotty and Mohanlal, scenes from Sakuntalam, Taj Mahal etc.
His father, famous carpenter Madhavan Achary, is his guru in this field. He has got ideas ad talent, but opportunities are yet to come his way, he feels.
