|
A high school student who is already qualified to be a Hindi
teacher in Upper Primary School: that is Resmi, a 9th
standard student of Pius Girls High School, Edappally. She
needs only 2 relatively simple qualifications to be a teacher: completion
of 18 years of age and pass in SSLC. Resmi has passed Hindi Visarat and Rashtrabhasha Praveen.
While the former is qualification enough to be a teacher in UP
school, the latter, together with 1 year TTC course qualifies one to don
the role of a High School teacher. “While studying in 4th standard, my neighbour
proposed to teach me Hindi”, says Resmi recalling her first lessons in
Hindi. Later learning the
language became an inspiring passion for her. Says her Hindi teacher, K.S.Licy: “In Hindi grammer, the
students find the determination of gender the most difficult.
It is here that the talent of Resmi shines forth.”
This teacher-in-school-uniform explains the lessons to her
classmates with the ease of recounting stories for nursery students.
No wonder she dreams of becoming a Hindi teacher one day.
