A commuter has handed over to the KSRTC authorities currency note bundles totaling about Rs. 25,000 seen lying inside the city bus.

The hero of this honest deed is G. Sreenivasan, a driver employed in Sree Jaya Travels, Killippalam, Thiruvananthapuram.  He was traveling from Killippalam to East Fort after work when he noticed the bundles of currency notes lying helter scelter on the seat.  Sreenivasan immediately handed it over to the authorities at the Transport Depot.  Soon afterwards, the claimants, businessmen based in Mumbai, reached the Depot and mentioned the exact amount lost by them in the bus.

However, the authorities refused to hand over the cash saying they did not have the bus tickets to prove their bona fides.  The dispute is continuing.
