Though by profession he is an ayurvedic doctor preparing and prescribing patent medicines, in his heart he cultivates the hobby of creating figures out of wood.

Dharmarajan, the young doctor-cum-sculptor runs his clinic at Thanneerkode Road, Naduvattom, Thrissur.  Perhaps the people who visit the shop are as much attracted by the medicines on the shelf as the sculptures on display there.  He utilizes his spare time in the clinic to give shape to his creativity.

While a small child, he used to make small toys himself.  However, the death of his grandfather when he was studying in 9th standard changed his life.  He had to shoulder the financial burden at home by quitting studies and taking up the job of running the clinic his grandfather was running.

The untaught artist uses small chisels, razor blades and glass pieces as tools to shape his figures.  ‘Ugly woman’, divine in hermaphrodite form, and ‘weeping Mahatma’ are some of them.
