DOING YOGA EXERCISES ON THE SURFACE OF WATER |

Treating the surface of water as if it were a carpet and doing yogasanas there for 5 hours continuously – that is what Raveendra Raju, Registrar in Cooperative Department has done. The organizers claim that it is a world record and will be featured in Guiness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records. During
the 5 hours, he demonstrated many asanas.
Besides he showed without flaw 16 ‘mudras’ from classical
dances like Bharatanatyam, Kathakali and Mohiniattam.
In addition, he was in ‘yoganidra’ for one hour on the surface
of water. Raju
from Venpakal, Thiruvananthapuram, started practicing yoga and
swimming in his teens. Now a
master of yogasanas, his performances have been telecast by leading
television channels of the world. Minister
for Cooperation, Sri. M.V.Raghavan inaugurated the programme and Sri.
K.Mohan Kumar, M.L.A. presided. There was packed crowd at the Water Works Swimming Pool,
Thiruvananthapuram to see Raju’s performance.
