MAYA MOHAN: CBSE HONOUR FOR CONTRIBUTION TO SECONDARY EDUCATION |

One of the 2 recipients from the whole of South India for this year’s ‘Teacher for the year 2001’, instituted by the Central Board of’ Secondary Education is Maya Mohan, the Principal of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, Kochi. Maya, who has been Principal since 1992 is the second Keralite in the history to bag this prestigious award. She has been selected for this award in recognition of her remarkable contributions in the field of secondary education. Her achievement is all the more remarkable for only 12 teachers out of 7,000 schools nominated from all over the country has been selected for the award. The award, comprising a citation, shawl and cash award, will be presented to her by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Dr.Murali Maohar Joshi at Delhi on September 4.
