Dr. Simon George, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at California State University, has won the Robert A. Millikan award for excellence in teaching physics at international level.
The award, instituted by the American Association of Physics Teachers, USA, carries a citation and cash worth Rs.1.88 lakhs approximately. In addition, Dr. George will deliver a speech at the next Annual Meeting of the Association.
Dr. simon was born in Kollam. After graduating from S.N.College, he joined the Guwahati University as a faculty. It was from there that he went to USA for taking up employment there
