What is it that cannot be achieved by constant practice?  Raphael, Ayathupadi, Perumbavoor, has turned his attention to writing mirror images of sentences and by constant practice perfected the feat of writing with his back to the board.

His unusual dexterity does not end there.  He can write mirror images of sentences in 4 languages – Malayalam, English, Hindi and Tamil – in 4 different ways at normal speed.  He can write with equal facility with either hand and can even write with a chalk held by the toe.

Besides, he has the ability to write 2 different languages simultaneously.  While the right hand writes on a topic in one language, the left hand can write on another topic in another tongue.  This must be a case of multiplexing at neural level or the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

Raphael, who is a work supervisor at HMT, Kalamassery, hopes to find a mention in Guinness Book of Records through his feat.  And if he had a choice, perhaps he would have written his own citation in mirror symmetry.

His son Dhavan too has mastered the reverse-writing technique, he says.
