PETER: LOTTERY AGENT’S HONESTY IN RETURNING TICKET TO REAL WINNER | ||||||
|
Those who keep to the path of righteousness even when nobody is around to monitor them must be considered highly evolved. T.A.Peter, a lottery agent from Kochi did not have to think twice when the ticket he sold on credit won the first prize of Rs.40 lakhs and an Innova car. He found out the real winner and handed over the lottery ticket to Murukan, the rightful owner. He had sold the ticket to Murugan few days ago. However, as he lacked resources then, Murukan had offered to pay the money at a later date and so the ticket was kept with Peter. When the result of the lucky draw was announced, Peter was perturbed. But he soon located Murukan and handed over the ticket to Murugan. Peter with his wife and two children belong to the Thavundel family of Panampithara Road, Panampally Nagar, Kochi. And Murukan, a worker in a dry cleaning shop at Jos Junction, belongs to Thirunelveli. He has been staying alone at Kochi for the last 15 years.
