There is not even a trace of light in the memory of Mohan Kumar, PBX operator in SBT’s zonal office at Kozhikode.  Yet perhaps he would rate the award from the State for best physically-challenged employee in 1990 and from the President in 1993 as the ‘brightest’ achievements of his life.

It was with the help of classmates and friends that Mohan Kumar completed his post graduation in Sociology.  Later he attended a training programme on PBX operation organized by the National Association for the Blind at Mumbai.  Besides, for 1 year he worked as a counselor giving guidance to the visually-challenged at Kannur.  From 1986 he has been working in the present job.

52-year-old Mohan Kumar who handles Malayalam, Hindi and English with ease, has written stories in all these languages.  His works have appeared in many periodicals.
