|||||||
|
It was as a student of Economics in Goa that James Abraham developed a liking for fishes, thanks to the interaction with a student of the subject. Little did he realize that one day it will become his passion and profession, and provide him economic sustenance. Today, his aquarium-fish breeding centre at Changanassery has more orders than he can execute. After studies, James he took up agricultural work but carried on the love of exotic fishes. Slowly the interest turned into a full time profession when he realized the potential of the trade and he has been fully involved in fish breeding for the past 3 years. Although his centre breeds 50000 fishes a year, his experience is that there is a lot more potential for aquarium-fishes. His major produce of gold fish, angel fish, gaurami etc are sold wholesale to other traders and to the Aquariculture Society, the organization of Aquarium owners. Quality control and good care that ensure purity of breeding process, is the secret of his success. According to him, it is better to prevent disease rather than try to cure it.
