3 generations ago, and before the advent of X-Ray, Varkey Vaidyan and Chacko of Parathuvayalil used to move their palm over the broken limb and understand the position of the fracture with the mind’s eye. With the organic medicines available in the backyards of the village itself, they treated many fractures.
Even after X-Ray facilities became quite common, the next generation doctor Paulose Vaidyan too felt confident to locate the fracture based on his observation. And now as the 4th generation doctor of Parathuvayalil, Dr.Pathrose too keeps the family tradition of treatment for fractures and bone dislocation.
The Parathuvayalil Ayurveda Hospital, founded by Dr.Pathrose, is situated at Keezhillam, on the Perumbavoor – Muvattupuzha road. Vertebral disk dislocation, joint dislocation etc are treated here without surgery. Many are the bedridden patients who are admitted here after accidents. Disproving the verdict of modern medicine that they will not be able to get up from the bed, many such persons have been cured in the hospital. As befits a modern hospital, it uses X-Ray, computerised lab, ECG etc in the diagnostic process.
The treatment is based on the ‘Dhara machine’ developed by Dr.Pathrose. This machine, which is a specialty of the hospital, helps to maintain the temperature of the oil and the cleanliness. These factors affect the quality of the treatment.
