As grades replace marks at school level, teachers face the tedious task of preparing many reports and converting marks to grades. Surendran, a teacher in Vakayad Higher Secondary School has developed a software to simplify the tasks of teachers. And his effort has been appreciated by the SCERT.

He had the assistance of the team of computer professionals under the leadership of Sreekumar from Indus ITC, Perambra as well as the support from M.C.Prakasan, Head of Computer Science at the Government Polytechnic, Thrikkarippur, Kannur.

As soon as a student joins the school, his or her details are captured in the software. This reduces the repetitive tasks of the teaching and non-teaching staff. The ‘Evaluator’ software helps to easily incorporate the marks and other co-curricular details of a student in each term and automatically convert marks to grades.

Teachers can generate progress report, promotion list, grade-wise report, category report, subject-wise report etc through this software without much effort. The ‘Evaluator’ software had captured the attention when it was presented at the South India Science Fair.
