The second largest panchayat in Kerala and one of the most backward, Muthalamada in Palakkad now has a healing touch in the activities of Sneham Charitable Trust of Sunildas.  Born in the same Enara house, where his grandfather had run the 1st school of Muthalamada and provided an always-open feeding spot for the poor people of the locale, perhaps it is fitting that his trust is into all these activities too.

Started in 2000, the Sneham trust provides free food to all who approach the Enara house.  Many students and others partake of this food for lunch and dinner.  And it is the same food that is served to family members and outsiders.

Driven by the belief that comprehensive development consists of food, health and education, the Sneham Trust next took up the issue of education.  It has adopted the Manjalloor A.U.P School, where ordinary students, including children of toddy tappers study.  The Trust gives aid to 1000 poor yet bright students of the District.

Under the Trust there are homoeopathic, allopathic and ayurvedic clinics at Muthalamada.  It runs a hospital each at Alathur and Palakkad as well as a centre for ayurvedic treatment near Parali.  The Trust has also adopted the families of 37 leprosy patients in the panchayat.

Sunildas, whose strength is the grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, had decided to marry, based on the directions of his master.  His wife Prameela Devi is a full time worker at the Whitefield Hospital of Bhagawan Baba.

With the help of Birla Foundation, the Trust has started arranging heart surgeries almost free of cost.  He certifies that the Trust is able to meet the expenses for all these activities based on ‘unexpected’ flow of goodwill.

Firmly believing in the healing power of love, he attests that with just the knowledge of his mother tongue alone, he was able to tour 20 countries, talk to the people and pray with them just by the power of this love.
