As the world poises for a greater leap into space in the form of space tourism etc., the legal aspects of such commercial deals assumes importance. It is here that the significance of Dr.Sandeep Gopalan’s legal luminance comes to the fore.
An expert in commercial law dealing with investment for artificial satellites and space vehicles, Dr.Sandeep is Assistant Professor at the College of Law, Arizona State University. He has been nominated by the Governor as a member of the State’s Aerospace and Defence Commission – the only Indian to be so elevated.
A member of the Air and Space Law Forum of the US Bar Association, he had authored a book titled ‘Trans-national Commercial Law’.
Dr.Sandeep had earlier graduated in commercial law from the National Law School of India, Bangalore with gold medal. He went on to do his masters and doctoral work at Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship.
Before joining the university as a faculty he had worked as Investment Banker and Attorney at Wall Street, New York.
