ARUNA: TOP RANK WINNER IN CBSE CHOSEN AS BRAND AMBASSADOR BY CENTRAL MINISTRY | |||||||
|
Winning
an academic rank can itself make you a model and a brand ambassador as the
experience of Aruna shows. This brilliant student who won the 1st
rank at national level in CBSE 12th standard exams, has been appointed by
the Ministry of Health at the Centre as the brand ambassador for women
empowerment programmes.
The ambassadorship will fetch her a purse of Rs.5 lakhs, which is the reward for taking part in different programmes of the Ministry. These include campaign against gender discrimination, publicity for different preventive vaccinations etc. Advertisements, posters and multimedia are some of the medium for the campaign. A student of Bharatheeya Vidya Bhavan, Kozhikode, she is the 1st person to win the top rank in CBSE from Kerala. A systematic learner, she was keen to study the portions and complete the assignments on the same day itself. While many rank holders run after the twin attractions of Engineering and Medicine, Aruna is different here also. She aims to study for M.Sc Physics at BITS, Pilani, Rajastan. As the admission to this course is based on the Plus Two marks, she is sure to get through without any difficulty. Her ambition is to do advanced research in Physics. In a way she is choosing the path of her mother rather than her father. Her mother Mohana is a graduate in Physics while her father Kesava Iyer is a graduate in mechanical engineering and Chief Manager of Punjab National Bank at Kozhikode. Her only sister Veena has just completed her course in engineering from the Sri Jayarama College of Engineering, Mysore. Aruna awaits the chance to receive the brand ambassadorship award from the Prime Minister on the World Population Day.
