SR.THERESA PUTHUPARAMBIL: MANAGING A HOME FOR DESTITUTE CHILDREN | |||||||
|
For her, service to the Lord meant service and love to fellow human beings. And it was this that prompted Sr.Theresa Puthuparambil to choose a career in managing destitute children after retirement from Christian clergy. She is mother to almost 40 children living together at the ‘Karunya Theeram Bala Bhavan’, run by a charitable trust at Eravipuram. “It is only when we live for others that our activities become compassionate ones. And it is only through such compassionate acts that our lives find perfection”, she says about her choice after retiring from convent. Started 2 years ago with just 3 children under the guidance of Father Charles O Prem, the Bhavan functions with the goodwill of benevolent citizens. Although finance is a problem for the Trust that hasn’t started receiving any aid from the Government, she places all trust in the Lord for fulfilling all its needs.
