AJITH MATHEW GEORGE: PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS IN USA | |||||||
|
Not
only as a real estate businessman or as a corporate advisor, but as
Managing Director of the 147-acre Neil Bay resort at Virgin Goda, a
British Island in the Caribbian Sea, too is Ajith Mathew George
well known. But more worthy
of mention is his effort at service to society in Delaware in mainland US.
For the past 14 years he has devised many projects for providing
food and assistance to the forsaken old people.
His
‘meals from the masters’ programme continues to be a success year
after year. In this scheme,
the best chefs around the world are assembled to prepare food for selected
guests who then donate money for the philanthropic projects. Perhaps,
it was recognition of the worthiness of these activities that fetched
Ajith the chance to visit the White House.
And during the course of that evening, he was graciously invited by
George W.Bush, the President of USA to sit in his official chair for a
short moment - perhaps the first Malayali to do so. And
how did it feel to sit in that famous chair.
“I was thinking of war and peace,” says 49-year-old Ajith,
whose roots are in Sankaramangalam, Eraviperoor, Pathanamthitta.
