HARIHARAN NAIR: RUNNING SELF DEVELOPMENT STUDY CENTRE | |||||||

For 15 years Hariharan Nair has been running the ‘Self Development Study Centre’, aimed at guiding those who wish to succeed in different fields of life by tapping their psychological abilities. Thousands of students, both from India and abroad, attend the 6-month postal course conducted by the Centre. In addition he gives counciling to those who approach him through phone or in person. Born to Raman Pillai and Karthyayani of Nagambadam, Kottayam in 1937, Hariharan Nair was interested in psychology and philosophy even as a student. A mechanical engineer by profession, he worked in KSEB till his retirement in 1998 before devoting full time to mending the minds of the needy. If as an engineer, he had shown proficiency in his field by becoming member of Institional of Mechanical Engineering Designers (London) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers, then as a writer of psychology, he was honoured with the Krishna Chaitanya award for commendable writing on psuychology among Indian languages as well as Mahakavi G memorial award for his scientific writings. His doctoral thesis was on mind and its deeper perceptions. By his service in the field of practical psychology for the last 4 decades, Hariharan Nair has been able to build a chain of human relationships strung on the thread of love.
