KAILASH NATH: TEENAGER WHO DEVELOPED A BLOGGING PROGRAM | |||||||
|
There
are many blogging softwares used by netizens, but which is the 'best
and simple among them all', as attested by Punith Mehrotra, the IT
columnist of Hindustan Times, and which ranks 6th in Google page ranking?
Well, it has been developed and made available for free use by a school
boy from Kozhikode.
Kailash Nath's B Machine is a software that makes blogging, or web-based diary of aired thoughts possible. What this school boy had developed 1½ years ago, is being used by many to reach the world of instant expressions on the web. Kailash's software, available as a free download from bostology.com, has so far had 21000 downloads, mostly by Chinese. "Any one can use it, except for commercial purposes," says the developer. Kailash, a Plus 2 student of Silver Hill Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, released the first version of the program on December 12, 2003. Now in the 6th version, the program continues to win hearts and bring inquiries. He has been approached online for joint ventures with the program. However the young man is firm in making it available for free on the net. Kailash's father, a branch manager in an insurance company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia had gifted him with a computer and internet connection 4 years ago. By making use of some Open Source software, Kailash had learned the secret of writing programs. Although he was initially interested in games, that inclination had slowly given way to programming, according to his mother Nalini. What a teenager sitting in an apartment in 'Vasantham Habitat' in P.M.Kutty Road, Kozhikode had sent out to the cyber world is now surpassing the products from even accomplished companies.
