The girl who failed in Nyaya in Pre Degree exam is the 1st rank holder in B.A. Nyaya exam of M.G.University.  Saritha, daughter of Prakash and Subhashini, Thazhathukattil, Marad, Ernakulam fought against many odds to emerge winner in the academic field.

Her father is a coconut climber who is taking rest at home for the past 5 years owing to ill health.  Her mother is a peon in the Milk Development office at Aluva – a temporary job for 6 months, obtained through Employment Exchange.  And this job will be available for one more month alone.

Saritha, who studied in Sanskrit College, Thrippunithura, had failed in Nyaya during 1st year Pre Degree exam, although she obtained fairly good marks in other subjects including English.  However, this set back did not discourage her; rather it spurred her to higher goals.

Saritha, who has been learning Sanskrit since the school days, dedicates her rank to her parents and teachers.  Her ambition is to study M.A in the same college and become a teacher.

Saritha’s only brother, Sandeep, is an employee in a workshop at Thrippunithura.
