Heading around 100 socio-cultural-medical-sports organizations in addition to running his own private hospital in Tirur: this is a feat of 76-year-old Dr.K.Alikkutty. For one man to handle so many things without any complaint certainly requires a lot of organizational skills and a dedicated attitude. For Dr.Alikkutty, it is all part of his contribution to the development of Malabar and Malappuram.
Among organizations graced by his active presence is ‘Nila Nadi Samrakshana Samithi’, Sarvodaya Mela organising committee of Thirunavaya, ‘Tunchan Smaraka Souharda Samithi’, and Managing Committee of P.S.M.O.College, Thirurangadi. His other positions include District Scout Commissioner, District Sainik Board Member, Vice President of Red Cross Society, Vice President of Malappuram Sports Council, Vice President of Tennis Association, Regional Director of Polio Immunisation, President of ‘Souhruda Vedi’, Life Member of K.M.E.A etc. His habit of turning up at public meetings right on time is an eye opener even to the organizers.
May be because he came up in life the hard way, the doctor makes it a point to fill the hands of any genuine seeker who approaches him. He has instituted 4 scholarships for best students in the locality.
All the positions have come to the doctor, as if in recognition of his essential goodness. Whatever job he takes up, he has the unwavering desire to see it completed. And that is the secret of his success in life.
Dr.Alikkutty’s wife is C.H.Khadeeja. They have 2 sons, both of whom are doctors: General Surgeon Dr. Abdul Nazar and paediatrician,Dr.Noushd.
