It was 6 years ago, on the 16th anniversary of their wedding, that George and Molly opened the doors of their house to the children of the streets.  Based on a prompting from their prayers, they initially invited 12 beggars into their home.  Among them were leprosy and TB patients.  Many died and a few moved on to other institutions and ashrams.  Later they tried to give shelter to the wandering street children.  They too soon ran away to greener pastures.

But a later prompting, again from meditation, led them to be parents to the unwanted children of unwed mothers.  If Molly hesitated at first, soon she too got the inner prompting.

Today there are 32 young members below the age of 16 in their house at Kappadam Thundathil, near Edakkurissi, Palakkad.  Agricultural income from the 40 cents land adjacent to their house and the 3-acre farm at Palakkayam helps the couple to some extent to meet the increasing cost of their philanthropy.  However, it is the contribution of charitable persons that helps the orphanage pull on, says George.

Finding wherewithal to run the home, giving attention to the tiny tots, taking care of their needs... George and Molly have their hands filled with work.

Their own 2 children are students - Ronis, the elder son is the 4th year student of theology at M.C.B.S Congregation’s Kajirappally Bhavan, while second child Honey is a student of Plus One.
