Starting from a humble beginning, the Maharaja Super Market, the textile shop started by L.Sivanandan has now become a synonym of common man’s aspiration of quality and price in Kochi. The twin showrooms at M.G.Road cater to a growing demand from the common man for assured but less costly materials.
If he endeared himself to the customers by selling quality textiles at maximum discount, the real trait that has endeared him to the people at large is his honesty of approach.
Last year he had started an institution in Gandhi Nagar for taking care of the aged. Many families have benefited from his philanthropic effort.
Sivanandan won this year’s State award for the best documentary film. His production, ‘Jeevana Kalayude Puthugeethangal’ won the Film Critic’s Award too.
