A Malayali student has won the 1st prize in the national level quiz-debate championship of USA. Mohammed Faris, son of IBM executive Dr.K.M.Mohiyudeen from Kodungalloor, won the prize in the United States National Students Championship held in Atlanta.
He will receive prizes worth Rs.3 lakhs and a trophy. A student of Leeland High School in Silicon Valley, California, Mohamed will continue his studies at the Stanford University.
He is the grandson of retired District Judge K.M.Muhammed Ali. Amina is his mother.
