His effort to write the history of cinema in a scroll-shaped book has been acknowledged by the Limca Book of Records in its 2003 edition. The spiral-shaped book ‘Flash Back’ by Gopi Mangalath, Malayattoor, chronicles the history and development of films.
The book begins with the details of the first film show, and then goes on to describe the major events of world and Indian cinema before coming to the Malayalam films.
One can know about the Malayalam film artists and their contributions from the scroll. It features details of the State Film Development Corporation and Chitranjali as well.
