D, Chairman and Managing Director of public sector giant Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has won the national award for the outstanding CEO.
The award, meant for best management practice among public sector undertakings, is known as Standing Conference Of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) and includes a citation, gold medal and Rs.1 lakh in cash. The recipient is selected by the jury headed by retired Justice P.N.Bhagavathi.
Koshy, who did his Ph.D in Microwave Electronics from Delhi University, was earlier a design engineer in ISRO. In 1974 he joined BEL as a Deputy Manager. Since 1993 he is on the board of directors and since 1996 he is the Chairman and Managing Director. Under his leadership the company had last year registered a Rs.200 crores net profit.
He had earlier received the best executive’s award from the Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering.
