Copra worker Bhaskaran Nair takes a glass tumbler to the workplace not to collect coconut water but to break the shells with this fragile tool.  Yes, for many years now, he uses glass tumbler more often than a chopper to break coconuts.

Bhaskaran Nair of Narath, Ulliyeri, Kozhikode took up half in jest the experiment of converting his glass tumbler into a tool for his chosen profession.  Initially it was the glasses that broke.  But he did not give up.  Later it happened that coconuts also started breaking.  And now, when he hits the nuts with the glass, only the shell breaks and not the glass.

Recently, in response to the wager of a few non-believers, he split into two not just 10 or 20, but 150 coconuts within 30 minutes.

He is ready to break coconuts in front of anyone: with glass that is.
