For the people of Thadapparambu, Mukkam, Kozhikkode, who had been suffering from want of proper road to their place, the 10-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp has come as a boon.

150 students belonging to 3 units of NSS from Government Arts and Science College, Kozhikkode have done this commendable job.

With this about 200 people including 96 Scheduled Caste families of IHDP colony have obtained a road to commute.

Earlier people here used to walk through the boulder-ridden hillside path.  One had to carry the infirm and old across this stretch to complete the journey.

The students removed the boulders and cut down trees along the path to clear the way.  When the natives saw the hard work and dedication of the students they too joined the fray under the leadership of K.Biju.

They cultural programme put up by the students in the evenings added to the joy of the people.  The students completed the road from Agasthyanmuzhi Angadi to Mampatta Vattolipparambu road.

NSS programme officers P.Baby Girija, P.K.Rajasekharan, M.K.Koyakkutty as well as College Union Chairman M.K.Anas and student volunteers Nikhita and Lakshmanan provided leadership for the project.
