The bus with 80 passengers was beginning to roll over the precipice.  Kapil in his earth mover by the side immediately sensed the gravity of the situation and acted in a flash.  He held the bus with the arm of his machine and allowed the passengers to disembark to safety.

Kapil, the earth mover operator residing at Malanthanam, Mukkuzhi, Kumbalampoika, Ranni in Pathanamthitta district was engaged in his work as part of the repair of a high range road at Rajakkad when the incident happened.  He was engaged in removing the blasted stones from the roadside when the bus came rushing at high speed.  The road at that point was wide enough for just one vehicle since the repair work was going on.  As he saw the bus from far, Kapil sensed something amiss.  The bus, driven by an inebriated driver, had its rear wheels over the precipice as it reached his place and was about to tilt to a fatal roll.

Kapil immediately held the bus with the arm of his earth mover.  This allowed the passengers to hand over their children through the windows.  Later the other passengers also managed to come out of the bus.

The presence of mind of the 31-year-old is an occasion for celebration and congratulation on the social media and in person.  It was only 7 months ago that he came to reside at Mukkuzi along with his wife Manju and one-year-old son Alan.
