Jagan T.Bastian, a student of MS (Product Design) at Ramayya College, Bangalore has won the second prize in the India Innovation Initiative National Fair conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.  His innovation is a device to extract honey easily from honeycombs.

Jagan, who hails from Thaliparamba, Kannur says the gadget will be a boon to beekeepers of the State.  While it cost him Rs.7000 to develop the prototype, he is confident that a commercial version can be made available for half that price.
