From the 10000 odd orchids in her terrace and compound, she gets almost 1000 flowers a week.  Similarly from 400 anthurium plants she gets 40 flowers per week.  Using these, single handedly, Tara Vineet makes flower arrangements that are a common feature in almost 60 establishments in Thrissur.

She had begun the tryst with flowers by selling them to the florists in town.  After undergoing training at Ernakulam, she gained confidence to try her hand at floral arrangement.  Now she is a leading florist in Thrissur.

Marriage halls and vehicles, public functions etc are the other media where her creativity is in display.  According to her, a culture of using flowers to express feelings during important occasions in personal life like birthday, marriage anniversary, death etc. is slowly emerging in Kerala.  So she has envisaged a scheme whereby one could send flowers with or without other gifts to one’s relatives and friends on special occasions.  At the moment, the scheme is proposed to be made operational in and around Thrissur only.

On many occasions she had to buy flowers from other cultivators to meet the demand.  She therefore plans to expand the area of anthurium cultivation.

Most of the offices require the flower arrangement to be changed on a weekly basis while some even want a change every day.  Tara who directly handles all the jobs in connection with cultivation and flower arrangement has just one employee to deliver the goods to the clients.

In the midst of all these activities, she finds time to raise fancy fishes and sells 1000 young ones per week.
