As the fruit-laden mango tree has to suffer the slings of mischievous boys, so too good people often have to undergo tribulations at the hands of the bad. So is the case with Dr.Sathyanji, Head of Pediatric Surgery at the Medical College, Alappuzha.
A man of convictions, he is one of the rare doctors who doesn’t engage in private practice after duty hours. Besides, his reluctance to accept money or gifts has made him a well beloved doctor among patients and their guardians. With an M.S in Surgery and M.C.H in Pediatric Surgery, he is one of the well-known pediatricians in South India.
His Gandhian approach to integrity in public life has made him the victim of professional jealousy more than once. If it was the denial of the post of hospital superintendent some time back, now it has been a physical attack on him recently. Undaunted, Dr.Sathyanji goes on with his chosen task.
