Words with the hardest consonants may not be amenable to Josekuttys  tongue.  But give him a coconut and chances are that he will remove the husk in seconds.

In fact Josekutty was a world record holder for removing the husk of a coconut using teeth in the shortest time.  The Limca Book of Records certifies his effort to complete the feat in 25 seconds.  Although a Kannadiga has since bettered the records at 15 seconds, his effort still signifies what can be achieved with constant effort and confidence.

He does not take special effort to strengthen the tooth.  However, as a young boy, his grandfather had guided him to some good practices in gum care and tooth strengthening.  For example the grandpa would teach him to press the gums every time he washed the mouth.  Also, even as a small boy, he would eat the fish, spine and all.  And as a youngster he was used to homemade tooth powder prepared from pepper, ‘jathi’, elaichi, neem leaf etc.

Today, 41-year-old Josekutty is running an advertising agency at Kozhikode.  During these years he had to consult a dentist only once.  That was when the stone in the rice he was eating from a hotel broke his teeth a bit.
