An 8th standard student of Government Model Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, Subodh has developed a software to learn English grammer in the game mode.

13-year-old Subodh had got introduced to computer when his father Ramesh brought a computer home last year.  After playing a couple of games, the youngster began to think seriously about using computer to teach Malayalam medium students the intricacies of English grammar.   Instead of repeating the content in the textbook on the screen, he was interested in adding animation and audio.

After 8 months of hard work, he has been able to develop the software in Visual Basic language.  The programme, meant for high school students, has been handed over the school for evaluation.  He is hopeful that after the teachers have gone through it, he will be given a chance to demonstrate it.

His programme incorporates parts of speech, tenses and other ingredients of grammar.  The contents are divided into Study Class, Exercise, Interactives, Tests, Beginners’ Quiz and Word Game.
