For one who had somehow failed in her marital life with an early divorce, Arunakshi’s success is turning out to be her business manufacturing mattresses and pillows.  And the transition from a heartbroken young woman to a successful entrepreneur became possible through the support of her classmates in Kasaragod, who were part of their Whatsapp group.

Though her father advised the divorcee that it isn’t married life that is important but the ability to stand on one’s legs, she kept ruminating on her plight.  It was then that the old boys and girls of her degree batch discussed Arunakshi’s situation in their chat group.

Arunakshi, who was very active earlier in her student days, had to be made active again, felt her classmates.  They therefore planned for an industry with Arunakshi at the realm to manufacture pillows. 

They supported Arunakshi to apply for a land in the Government industrial centre at Anantapuram, Kasaragod.  As this became a reality, they further helped her procure the machines and raw materials. 

Within a short time, Vi Flowers, the industry was up and running. Incidentally, Vi Flowers is the name of their Whatsapp group too.  Pillows were the initial product.  They were marketed locally and in the nearby places in Karnataka. 

Then the industry expanded to include mattresses as the second product.  Local customized mattresses like child mattresses were in demand and that prompted the additional product.

The industry has been able to provide employment to few persons.  And that she counts as a plus point of her efforts.

While many rest on the marital bed of success with the husband’s biceps as pillow, Arunakshi rests on the mattress of entrepreneurship with the pillow of support of her classmates.
